DDU and DDP Definition

  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) – This delivery method, all charges are paid by the seller of the goods including transportation and shipping charges. Duty and customs clearance costs are included.
  • DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) – Here, all charges are paid by the seller of the goods including transportation and shipping charges. Duty is still payable

Our clients always end up asking us about damaged freight and if this is covered. Nevertheless we always ask the client to have insurance. However if they are not sure how to go about the insurance we also provide this service to ensure peace of mind to our clients.

Door to Door shipments are great for startup business. This will help them understand the paperwork , processes involved and determine what fits in with them. To determine this we encourage our clients to speak to us about times, delivery modes and storage. Rates are then quoted based on what service level they require.  Always remember that there are pro’s and con’s of having a door to door service. This sort of service also puts liability onto the supplier. If its DDU then the duties and customs charges are transferred to the client to pay. Speak to us today about your door to door queries.
